“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” — 2 Chronicles 7:14

The Prayer & Revival Department of the Evangelical Church of India exists to strengthen the spiritual foundation of the Church through prayer, intercession, and revival. We believe that prayer is the heartbeat of every ministry and the key to spiritual awakening, transformation, and God’s direction for the Church.

Our mission is to build a prayer-centered movement within ECI by encouraging believers, pastors, and churches to seek God faithfully and unite in intercession for the Church, the nation, and the world.

Our Mission

The Prayer & Revival Department is committed to:

  • Building a culture of prayer across all ECI churches

  • Encouraging systematic and disciplined prayer lives

  • Strengthening believers spiritually through intercession

  • Seeking revival within churches and communities

  • Covering ECI ministries, leaders, missionaries, and mission fields in prayer

  • Raising prayer warriors for the Kingdom of God

Through prayer movements, revival gatherings, and structured prayer initiatives, the department continues to encourage believers to grow deeper in their relationship with God.

Prayer Initiatives

1. ECI Prayer Guide

By God’s grace, the 14th edition of the ECI Prayer Guide in both Tamil and English was prayerfully dedicated and released on 26 January 2024 during the IMM Conference held at Hope Cathedral, Villivakkam.

The ECI Prayer Guide serves as a spiritual resource for believers, pastors, and prayer groups, helping them maintain a focused and organized prayer life.

The Prayer Guide Includes:

  • 31 days of systematic prayer points

  • Prayer focus for all dioceses and departments

  • Prayer support for pastors, churches, missionaries, and families

  • Intercession for cities, states, and the nation

  • Prayer emphasis for ministry growth and revival

The guide also honors the spiritual legacy and ministry vision of our beloved Father Bishop, The Most Rev. Dr. M. Ezra Sargunam, encouraging believers to continue praying for the mission and future of ECI.

2. Diocesan Chain Prayer

The Diocesan Chain Prayer is a continuous prayer movement where intercession rises before God day and night.

Under this initiative:

  • Areas, dioceses, and departments take responsibility for prayer shifts

  • Individuals participate in scheduled prayer times

  • Continuous intercession is offered for ECI ministries, churches, and mission fields

This prayer chain reflects the unity of the ECI family and our commitment to seek God together in prayer.

3. Weekly Prayer Points

Every week, the Prayer & Revival Department prepares focused prayer points supported by relevant Scripture verses. These prayer points help churches and believers pray systematically and intentionally.

Prayer Focus Includes:

  • ECI leadership and dioceses

  • Departments and ministry wings

  • Bible colleges and training centers

  • Missionaries and mission fields

  • Local church needs

  • Nations, states, districts, and government authorities

  • Contemporary prayer burdens and urgent needs

The department prayerfully prepares these points to help believers grow in consistent and meaningful intercession.

Our Vision for Revival

The Prayer & Revival Department envisions a Church that is deeply rooted in prayer and empowered by the Holy Spirit.

Our Vision Includes:

  • Continuous prayer in every church

  • Revival among believers and families

  • Spiritual awakening across communities

  • Unity among pastors and congregations

  • Growth in holiness, discipleship, and evangelism

  • Raising intercessors and prayer warriors for the Kingdom

We believe true revival begins when God’s people humble themselves, seek His face, and pray with faith and obedience.
