The Evangelical Theological Academy (ETA) was established in 2011 by the visionary leaders of the Evangelical Church of India (ECI) with a mission to equip pastors, missionaries, and Christian leaders through advanced theological education.

ETA exists to encourage lifelong learning among servants of God and to prepare leaders who can faithfully serve the Church and society with biblical knowledge, spiritual maturity, and ministry excellence.

Academic Recognition

In 2017, the Asia Theological Association (ATA) officially recognized and accredited ETA’s academic programs, affirming the academy’s commitment to excellence in theological education.

ETA currently offers accredited programs in:

  • Master of Theology (M.Th.)

  • Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.)

This recognition has strengthened ETA’s role in providing advanced theological and ministerial training for Christian leaders.

Learning Approach

In the post-pandemic era, ETA has adopted a Blended / Hybrid Learning Model, combining both virtual and classroom-based learning methods.

This flexible approach allows students from different regions to continue their theological education while actively serving in ministry.

Academic Programs

1. Master of Theology (M.Th.)

M.Th. in Mission & Ministry (Distance Program)

  • Duration: 3 Years

  • Curriculum:

    • 11 Subjects (3 Credits Each)

    • Thesis Proposal & Dissertation (6 Credits)

  • Total Credits: 39 Credits

M.Th. in Missiology (Residential Program)

  • Duration: 2 Years

These programs are designed to strengthen theological understanding, mission strategy, and ministry leadership.

2. Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.)

D.Min. in Mission & Ministry (Distance Program)

  • Duration: 4 Years

  • Includes:

    • Academic Research Papers

    • Advanced Ministry Courses

    • Thesis Proposal & Dissertation

The D.Min. program is intended for experienced ministry leaders seeking advanced research and ministry development.
